Registration, communication, conduct and program-participation expectations for parents and guardians of TVL youth players.

Parents and guardians are responsible for reviewing the information that applies to their child's TVL program, including dates, registration requirements, program format and communications sent during the season.
Register for the Program You Intend to Attend
Registration is a commitment to a TVL youth program. Facility time, staffing, team placement, schedules, equipment and shirts are planned around the children who register.
Parents and guardians are responsible for reviewing the program description, age group, dates, tentative start information and other published requirements before completing registration.
Refunds & Credits
Youth registrations may receive a refund when the withdrawal request is made before registration closes.
After registration closes, refunds will generally only be considered when a player is unable to participate for a legitimate medical reason supported by appropriate medical documentation.
Once teams have been created and the season schedule has been completed, refunds will no longer be issued.
When a documented medical circumstance prevents a child from participating after teams and schedules have been created, TVL may issue a future program credit at league management's discretion.
When TVL cancels a youth program, participants will first be offered a comparable program or night when space is available.
Youth participants who cannot transfer will be offered either a full site credit or a full refund.
Program Communication
TVL communicates registration extensions, tentative start-date changes and other program updates through league communications.
Parents and guardians are expected to review those communications and understand the program in which their child is registered.
A registration extension, delayed start or adjustment to a tentative start date is not considered a TVL cancellation by itself.
Parent & Spectator Conduct
Parents and spectators are part of the environment children experience during a TVL program.
Respectful questions and normal competitive emotion are different from abusive, threatening, intimidating or hostile conduct.
- Harassment or degrading treatment of another person.
- Abusive, threatening or intimidating behavior.
- Hostile conduct toward players, coaches, officials, other parents, TVL staff or facility staff.
- Behavior intended to disrupt a match, practice or program.
Conduct that threatens participant safety, program operations, facility requirements or the community environment may result in removal from the program area or facility.
Serious or repeated conduct issues may be referred to TVL management for review before the parent or spectator is permitted to attend a TVL program again.
Program-Specific Instructions Are Part of the Rules
Youth programs may vary by age group, format, facility and developmental purpose.
Parents and guardians are responsible for reviewing program-specific instructions and helping their child follow the Youth Volleyball Rules and the expectations established for that program.
When a TVL youth program uses a modified format or specific TVL house rule, the published youth program rule takes precedence over the general volleyball playing standard.
