TVL Rules & Policies

The standards that apply across Tulsa Volleyball League programs, including registration commitments, cancellations, conduct, communication responsibilities, and rule enforcement.

For the Love of the Game.

Know the Rules. Know Your Program.

Registering for or participating in a TVL program constitutes acceptance of the rules and policies that apply to that program.

Program-specific instructions are part of the applicable rules. When a published program rule differs from a general TVL policy, the program-specific rule will apply.

Registration Policy

Registration & Season Commitments

Registration is a commitment to a TVL league or program season.

Facility time, staffing, team placement, schedules, equipment, shirts and other program expenses are planned around the players and teams who register.

Participants are responsible for reviewing the program description, scheduled playing or program night, tentative start date, division or age level, registration requirements, and other published instructions before registering.

Financial Policy

Refunds & Credits

Adult League Registrations

Adult league registrations are non-refundable.

Before teams are created and schedules are finalized, TVL may consider a future site credit in limited circumstances at league management's discretion.

Once teams have been created and the season schedule has been completed, no refunds or credits will be issued for adult league registrations.

Youth Program Registrations

Youth registrations may receive a refund when a withdrawal request is made before registration closes.

After registration closes, refunds will generally only be considered when a player is unable to participate for a legitimate medical reason supported by appropriate documentation.

Once teams have been created and the season schedule has been completed, refunds will no longer be issued. If a documented medical circumstance prevents a child from participating after that point, TVL may issue a future program credit at league management’s discretion.

Program Timing

Registration Extensions & Tentative Start Dates

Some TVL programs require a minimum number of players or teams in order to operate properly. For that reason, registration deadlines may occasionally be extended and anticipated start dates may be adjusted or delayed.

When this occurs, TVL will communicate the change through league communications and update the applicable program information. Start dates may also be identified as tentative during registration when minimum enrollment requirements have not yet been met.

An Extension Is Not a Cancellation

An extension of registration, delayed start, or movement of a tentative start date does not by itself qualify a registration for a refund or credit.

Requests based solely on a season taking longer to begin will not qualify when the program was clearly listed with a tentative start date and participants were kept informed of registration or scheduling extensions.

TVL Cancellation

If TVL Cancels a Program

If TVL determines that a registered program cannot operate and TVL cancels the season, registered participants will first be offered the opportunity to move to another comparable league or program night when space is available.

  • Adult participants who cannot transfer will be issued a full site credit.
  • Youth participants who cannot transfer will be offered either a full site credit or a full refund.

Community Standards

Sportsmanship & Conduct

TVL is built around competition, development, community, and the love of the game.

We respect each other. We include each other. We accept each other. Players, parents, coaches, officials, spectators, facility staff and TVL staff all deserve the same basic respect.

Compete Hard. Do Not Make It Personal.

Competition comes with intensity. Close games, celebrations, frustration, disagreements and tough losses are all part of sports.

The following behavior is not acceptable:

  • Abusive, threatening or intimidating language or behavior.
  • Harassment or degrading treatment of another person.
  • Deliberately unsafe or reckless conduct.
  • Repeated arguing with or intimidating an official or coach.
  • Hostile conduct toward players, parents, spectators, staff or facility personnel.
  • Behavior intended to disrupt a match or create an unnecessarily hostile program environment.
Warnings, Removal & Ejections

Unsportsmanlike conduct may result in a warning, penalty, removal from play or the program area, or ejection from the facility depending on the severity or repetition of the behavior.

Serious or repeated conduct issues may be referred to TVL management for review before the person or team involved is permitted to participate in or attend a TVL program again.
