Free Agents

TVL ADULT VOLLEYBALL

You Don't Need a Full Team to Play.

Maybe you're signing up by yourself. Maybe you already have a few people and just need help filling out the roster.

That's what TVL free-agent options are for.

Two Ways to Get Onto the Court.

01

Join a Free Agent Team

Coming in on your own? Register as a free agent when space is available and TVL can bring available individual players together to form a team.

You may be meeting your teammates for the first time when the season starts — and that's part of the free-agent experience.

We Ask Players to Know Their Level. We Can't Know It for Them.

TVL asks every player to choose the division that best fits their actual volleyball ability.

Free-agent teams are different from teams that have already played together. You may not know the players being placed with you, and TVL may not have seen every player compete before registration.

Even with division descriptions and level guidance, we cannot guarantee that every player has evaluated their own ability perfectly.

Free-agent placement is about getting people onto the court. It is not a promise that every player will arrive with identical experience, skill or playing style.

Register Where Your Game Actually Fits.

Choosing a division isn't about finding the easiest place to win. Pick the environment that best matches how you actually play.

RECREATIONAL

All experience levels are welcome, but stronger players are expected to respect and play to the Recreational environment.

LOWER INTERMEDIATE

For players comfortable with rotations, positioning and more consistent intermediate play.

UPPER INTERMEDIATE

For experienced players looking for a faster, stronger and more structured level of competition.

Teams Come Together

When numbers allow, players are placed with an existing group or brought together as a free-agent team.

Placement depends on registration numbers and available roster space. Registering as a free agent does not guarantee placement.

One Player Is Enough to Start.

You can register as a free agent completely on your own. If you have a friend, a couple of friends, or a larger group that wants to play together, that's fine too.

Each player can register individually and request the others they would like to be placed with. TVL will work to keep requested players together when building or filling a team.

Already have a few players and want to build around your group? You can create a team, register the players you already have, and request that available free agents be placed with your team to help complete the roster.

There’s more than one way to build a team. We’ll do our best to keep requested players together and fill open spots when the numbers allow.

Give It a Chance.

Free-agent volleyball means you may end up playing with people you've never met before.

Different personalities. Different experience. Different ways of communicating on the court.

Come ready to communicate, be flexible and give your new teammates a fair chance to become a team.

You all signed up for the same reason: you wanted somewhere to play volleyball.

Start With the League You Want to Play In.

Check the current Adult Volleyball registrations and choose the division that fits your game. If a free-agent option is available for that league, you can register individually and let us know who you'd like to play with.
