Volleyball for Anyone Who Wants to Play.

New to the game, getting back on the court, or simply looking for a more relaxed night of volleyball? Recreational is built for all of it.

Players of all experience levels are welcome. The expectation is simple: play to the level of the division and help keep the game enjoyable for everyone on the court.

It's Less About Your Volleyball Resume and More About the Court You're On.

Some players are learning rotations. Some are getting back into volleyball after years away. Some have played for a long time and just want a fun night with friends.

Recreational gives all of those players a place to play together. You don't have to be new to play Rec — you just need to understand the kind of game you're stepping into.

There's More Than One Reason to Play Recreational.

01

Learning the Game

Still figuring out rotations, positioning or consistency? That's okay. Recreational gives you room to learn by actually playing the game.

02

Getting Back on the Court

Played before but a little rusty? Rec is a good place to find your rhythm again without feeling like every rally has to look perfect.

Great. We Still Want You Here.

Being the best player on the court isn't a problem. Turning Recreational into your personal highlight reel is.

Hit. Serve. Block. Compete. Just use some awareness when the players around you are clearly still developing.

Play hard.

Include your teammates.

Read the level of the court.

Let everyone actually play volleyball.

Experienced players should not intentionally overpower newer players, take over every rally or change the pace of the match into something that no longer feels Recreational.
The goal is a good match — not proving you could be playing somewhere else.

What to Expect

Organized Matches

Games are scheduled, scores count and standings are tracked. Recreational is relaxed in level — not disorganized.

Volleyball Rules Still Apply

You may be learning, but we're still playing volleyball. Rotations, normal gameplay rules and sportsmanship expectations still apply.

Team Reffing

Adult teams help ref league matches unless a program says otherwise. Everyone shares some responsibility for keeping the night moving.

Room to Develop

Nobody expects every Rec player to be perfect. Developing consistency, learning where to be and getting better through actual play are part of the division.

Want a Faster Game?

If your team wants faster rallies, more consistent play and a division where intermediate players are expected to play at their full level, Lower Intermediate may be a better fit.

That's Not a Deal Breaker.

You can register with a full team, come in with a few people, or use one of our free-agent options when they're available.

We'll break down exactly how that works on the Free Agents page.

Grab Your People and Come Play.

New player, rusty player, experienced player — there's room for all of it in Recreational.
