Wednesday Lower Intermediate

This Lower Intermediate division plays Wednesday evenings at the JCC on 71st Street between Lewis and Riverside.

• Game Times: 6:10 PM, 7:00 PM or 7:50 PM
• Season: 8 weeks
• Game Length: 50 minutes
• Warm-Up: 5 minutes before each match
• Format: Coed — no required gender ratio

Lower Intermediate is designed for players who have established volleyball fundamentals and are comfortable with organized team play, rotations and consistent rallies.

Team Rosters

Teams must have a minimum of 6 fully registered players and may carry a maximum of 8 registered players to be placed on the schedule.

All players needed to meet the six-player minimum must complete registration by the Week 2 player registration deadline.

Unfilled Roster Positions

If a team has fewer than six fully registered players after the Week 2 player registration deadline, the team captain or primary team registrant will be invoiced for each unfilled roster position needed to meet the six-player minimum.

Each unfilled roster position will be charged at the applicable individual player registration rate for that league.

The captain may divide that cost among the team as the team chooses; however, responsibility for payment to TVL remains with the captain or primary team registrant.

Payment for an unfilled roster position does not create an additional registered player or permit an unregistered player to participate. Any player later added to the roster must complete registration before taking the court and remains subject to the Week 4 roster-lock rules.

Regular-Season Subs

If a team is short during the regular season, substitute players may be used. At least 4 rostered players must be on the court to avoid a forfeit.

Players must arrive before the 5-minute warm-up period ends. Teams that qualify for playoffs may only use players listed on their official roster. No substitute players are permitted during playoff matches.

Team Reffing Assignments

Teams will receive reffing assignments throughout the season. Captains and players are responsible for reviewing the schedule each week and making sure their team's assignment is covered.

Missing two or more assigned reffing duties may result in the team forfeiting its highest-scoring win of the season.
